Job Description:

Intel Mobile Communications is seeking a 3G PHY Architect for thesystem engineering team with focus on UMTS (3G). In this position you willcontribute to the definition of the architecture of Intel's combined PHYbaseband architecture with focus on the 3G part. This includes functional modemarchitecture, signal processing architecture, HW architecture and FWarchitecture. You will work closely with other system engineering teams andarchitects, HW, FW and SW design teams.

Responsibilities:

-Define and document PHY modem requirements and use casesincluding breakdown into HW and FW components and sub-components for Intel's 3Gmodem products

-Define and optimize the architecture of the 3G PHY modemsystem, including HW/FW Split.

-Provide interface and architecture specifications

-Develop concepts to improve the performance of current 3Gproducts in close cooperation with customers

-Develop test strategies in cooperation with the componentverification team

-Provide implementation and debug support to the HW and FWdevelopment teams in an international environment

-Drive and conduct reviews with the development team

-Advise project and program management in planning

-Develop and present technical product documentation tocustomers and for training

-Closely follow the 3GPP standardization process

Requirements:

-Master degree in Communication Systems, Computer Science orElectrical Engineering, PhD is a plus

-At least 3 years proven experience in real-time embeddedsystem design

-At least 3 years proven experience with for cellular modemstandards (2G, 3G, LTE)
